The Market Research Manager leads, develops and delivers research programmes, markets, develops and delivers research services to other organisations in order to generate income, provides research input and consultancy to other company projects, develops innovative new ideas and areas of research.
RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to the Head of Department
- Works closely with the Company Directors and senior management
- Appoints and manages agencies and suppliers
- Working relationship with staff at all levels
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Managing all aspects of qualitative and quantitative consumer research of FMCG market including research regarding products*services awareness, positioning, benefits, marketing communications usability.
• Identifying and determination of the scope of marketing research needs, including secondary research and research design*implementation
• Selecting the most appropriate research methodology and techniques, designing research questionnaires and moderator guides
• Identifying and managing appropriate vendors.
• Interpreting data, analyzing research and developing reports summarizing key findings and making related recommendations.
• Proactively identifying and following up on new opportunities for promoting and marketing the sale of company’s research services to external customers
• Working with the Director and Business Manager on the preparation of competitive tendering documents and other marketing and promotional documents and activities
• Overseeing the effective management of designated external projects including customer liaison and regular and systematic evaluation of service quality, cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
• Extensive Qualitative Research & FMCG * retail projects experience is ESSENTIAL
• Excellent communication and client facing skills are a MUST.
• Ability to design and execute multiple research projects simultaneously.
• Good working knowledge of analytical and statistical tools to analyze and interpret data, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
• Experience in survey design, execution and analysis and other standard research methodologies including phone surveys and site usability research.
• Experience in identifying and managing research vendors.
• Must be a strategic thinker with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently on projects in a fast paced environment, ability both to work on own initiative without supervision, and within a team environment.
• Highly motivated, flexible and adaptable nature with a proactive approach.
